Romance Thailand – Classic Thailand with Samui
- Our popular classic idea, with Bangkok, Chiang Mai & Koh Samui, a great romantic bucket list item, enjoy reduced hotel rates + great extras.
This 11-day, air-inclusive Thai escape starts in Bangkok, immersing you in the sights and sensations of the country’s capital. Then fly on to Chiang Mai for a taste of cultural Thailand, finishing in Koh Samui for some rest and relaxation beside the crystal clear waters.
Bangkok has many worthwhile attractions, but the Grand Palace and temples are perhaps the most famous, and with good reason. Explore the halls and chambers of the ancient Thai court, as well as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and Wat Po, home of the famous Reclining Buddha. In the evening, a dinner cruise takes you down the Chao Phraya River, from which you get to experience the lights of Bangkok at night. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn is particularly dazzling after dark. A half-day tour takes you to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market the following day. Established by King Rama IV in 1866, the market today lets you see locals bargaining for fruits, vegetables, and much more on the water.
Fly to Chiang Mai and enjoy a half day tour exploring the city’s many picturesque temples. You’ll visit the city’s oldest temple, and the exquisitely carved Wat Phra Sing. Wat Suan Dok dates back to the 14th century, and today contains one of Thailand’s most famous monk schools. The tour also includes some of Chiang Mai’s most famous sights, including its city walls and market. A second tour the following day takes you a little further afield, into the Doi Suthep district and Meo Pui village. This is Chiang Mai at its most colourful, with ancient Buddhist relics and beautifully detailed traditional costumes.
The following day, fly to Koh Samui, where you’ll have a full day exploring Angthong Marine Park, an archipelago of 40 uniquely shaped islands that embody what’s so special about this part of the world. The following day is yours to spend at leisure, so relax on the beach, shop in the local markets, or try something new, like a local cooking class.
