5 Recent Travel Trends
- We all realize that travel has changed during these uncertain times. We have noticed that our travel requests are continue to increase, but there have been some changes in the type of requests that we are receiving. We have include a few of those trends below and we do not see them stopping anytime soon.
- Longterm Travel – We have seen an increase in travelers who are planning longterm getaways for 3 months or more. We think this trend will continue, as so many travelers have the ability to work more remote for the next year or so.
- Very Last Minute Getaways – There has been an increased demand for last minute getaways for our travelers. We have travelers who just absolutely need to getaway to a place that is relatively currently safe. This is has been a smart approach, as typically the status of the countries haven’t changed (meaning that our travelers are still allowed and also these destinations have have had relatively low COVID-19 exposure) within these short travel windows. These client have been looking to leave within 2-3 weeks of reaching out to us, so these are very last minute requests. We think this trend will continue for quite some time.
3. Private Rentals – Many of our travelers are choosing to rent entire private villas and home for their travel, which is certainly a trend that we do not see slowing down. In the past, we have handled booking mostly resort & hotel related travel. However, during these current times we are working close with our clients to help them find that perfect getaway.
4. Future Travel – We have clients who are taking advantage of some great resort and villa pricing & additional perks that are being offered for future travel. These client are booking trips almost 9 months or so away. Also, the airlines have been more flexible as well which is allowing some of our travelers to feel more comfortable planning future trip.
5. Purchasing “Cancel for Any Reason” Travel Insurance – We have a high percentage of our travelers who are purchasing Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance. We have always recommended this to our travelers, but now it’s more important during these times to have the extra layer of protection for your trip with the CFAR insurance.
