- We love our desserts & treats in Hawaii. Who doesn’t right? We recently ate enough Hawaiian Shave Ice and Hula Pie to last us until we return again! These treats are a must try when visiting the islands.

What is Shave Ice?
- This Hawaiian dessert comes from shaved or crushed ice that is topped with syrup flavoring of your choice to create a very refreshing treat . This dates back to the sugar planation day of old Hawaii. This can be found on all of the main islands Maui, Kauai, Big Island and Oahu.

What is Hula Pie?
- This is simply of our favorite treats in the world. It’s made with macadamia nut ice cream piled high on a chocolate cookie crust and topped with chocolate fudge, whipped cream, and more macadamia nuts. It is meant to be shared! This can be found on Oahu, Maui & Kauai. There is a similar version on the Big Island known as “Mud Pie”, but it’s not as good (in our opinion) as Hula Pie!
