We love a good thrill (see our Maui Road to Hana experience too) and our most recent Kauai helicopter tour with Jack Harter Helicopters did not disappoint us. Our experience was amazing, as we went with the “no doors” helicopter tour. We saw the entire island spanning from the Napali Coast, to Waimea Canyon, out to Hanelei area and much more. So many of these areas are only accessible by helicopter or boat (along the coasts).
The beauty of the tour is that this helicopter only seats 5 (including pilot), so there are no obstructed view and it’s a very intimate experience.
A few key tips:
Make sure to wear pants
The 60-65 minute tour option is a good amount of time to discover the island
No sandals allowed, so bring shoes
Sit in the back of the helicopter if possible, as this will ensure that you have a “doors off” view of the stunning scenery
If you plan to take camera or phone, ensure that you bring a strap for it. Otherwise, it’s not allowed to be used on the flight.
Wear a wind jacket or sweater, but no hoodie
