This May, we had the pleasure of sending a few of our clients on a beautiful 7 Day Alaskan Cruise out of Seattle, Washington with Holland America Cruise Line!
“Book your trips with The Timely Traveler! Jane left no detail out. It was so well organized (and for 19 family members, 5 different families) one would think it would be impossible. But not for them. Our trip could not go any smoother. Jane took care of everything from start to finish. She over exceeded our expectations by a land slide and even had a surprise on board for us. (What a nice touch)” – Christina Clare
Sample Itinerary:
- Day 1 – Day At Sea: Departs at 4:00 PM from Seattle, Washington on Holland America Oosterdam!
- Day 2 – Stephen’s Passage: Stephens Passage is a channel in the Alexander Archipelago in the southeastern region of the U.S. state of Alaska. It runs between Admiralty Island to the west and the Alaska mainland and Douglas Island to the east, and is about 170 km long. Juneau, the capital of Alaska, is near the north end, on Gastineau Channel.
- Day 3 – Hubbard Glacier: This tidewater glacier may be a bit of sleeping giant. Off the coast of Yakutat—200 miles NW of Juneau—Hubbard is certainly gigantic: it’s more than six miles wide where it meets the ocean.
- Day 4 – Sitka, Alaska: Sitka is an Alaskan city and borough near Juneau, the state capital. It’s spread over Baranof Island, part of Chichagof Island and others. It was part of Russia until 1867 and St. Michael’s Orthodox Cathedral is topped with an onion dome. The 1842 Russian Bishop’s House is nearby. Sitka National Historical Park is the site of Russia’s defeat of the indigenous Tlingit people and has a trail dotted with totem poles.
- Day 5 – Ketchikan, Alaska: Ketchikan is an Alaskan city facing the Inside Passage, a popular cruise route along the state’s southeastern coast. It’s known for its many Native American totem poles, on display throughout town. Nearby Misty Fiords National Monument is a glacier-carved wilderness featuring snowcapped mountains, waterfalls and salmon spawning streams. It’s also home to rich wildlife including black bears, wolves and bald eagles.
- Day 6 – Victoria, Canada: Victoria, capital of British Columbia, sits on the craggy southern end of Vancouver Island. With abundant parkland, it’s known for outdoor activities. The city’s British colonial past shows in its Victorian architecture, including stately Craigdarroch Castle mansion. Butchart Gardens, with 55 acres of vivid floral displays, plus statuary, water features and a carousel, is one of many formal gardens in the city.
- Day 7 – Return to Seattle!
