Our adventurous honeymooners just returned from a 12 day New Zealand trip. Here is a link to their trip – http://thetimelytraveler.com/12-day-new-zealand-honeymoon-itinerary/
Below is their feedback and some highlights of their trip!
How was your overall satisfaction with our travel services?- Very Satisfied
- Yes
- It was a wonderful trip and could not have been planned any better. There is no way I would have been able to plan such an amazing trip myself. Truly a trip of a lifetime.
- All of the lodging was wonderful, but I would have to say the Lakestone Lodge was the most amazing place we stayed.
- The two days hiking and kayaking in Abel Tasman was exactly the activity level we were seeking and two wonderful relaxing days.
- While Kaikoura included some early days it was a great location with an amazing hike around the peninsula, great sea food, and fun trying to track down the whale during our sight seeing trip.
- Over the two weeks we hiked more than 50 miles. While that is not a crazy distance we were always moving and hiking around the beautiful country, there was not much down time but we wanted to see as much as we possibly could.
- Grab paper maps when you can. The GPS provided by the rental company was outdated and had some trouble picking up a signal some times.
- We traveled an hour or more out of our way to check out Picton and a hike a couple trails. There are some amazing views of the cook strait and it was well worth the detour. Seems like it would be a nice town to stay in. Everyone we talked to told us the Fiordland National Park is amazing and is a must see. Wished we could have included that but was too far out of route to pack in.
- Try and talk with others, either vacationers or locals to get advice on sights and activities, and don’t always take the most direct route. New Zealand is a pretty safe country and there is lots to explore, take the gravel road.
- The Pier Hotel in Kaikoura offered great crayfish (lobster). They are reservation only so plan ahead. After a long day outside we had a simple dinner at HELL Pizza in Queenstown. This is definitely not fancy but was a very good meal and offered lots of options for people with diary restrictions (vegetarian).
- Lots of people recommended Ferg Burger as a must eat. We did not get a chance but every time we walked by there was a huge line well into the evening.
- This was an amazing trip. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the trip. It really would not have been possible without the help of DeJuan and his team at Timely Traveler.
