Australia Trip – Fitzroy Island and Daintree Rainforest Adventure

We had a great experience helping some of our travelers plan an Australian getaway. They focused on a couple of areas that are not often on the main itinerary for our travelers. They visited the stunning Fitzroy Island an the natural beautiful Daintree Rainforest. They had the trip of a lifetime and here is a snapshot of their trip:

Where Did They Travel?

Fitzroy Island

Our clients spent time in Australia’s Fitzroy Island (just across from Cairns mainland) and also the natural escape in the Daintree Rainforest. Our client stayed at the Fitzroy Island Resort, which is an all-inclusive resort including meals, drinks and many activities during the stay. Our travelers had a chance to enjoy They enjoyed an amazing excursion out on the Great Barrier Reef. Including snorkeling, intro diving, snuba and much more. They visited two reef locations and had a chance to enjoy the prirstine coral reefs and marine life with a very small group of other travelers.

Daintree Rainforest

The next stop for them was exploring the Daintree Rainforest. The national park is a vast area of tropical rainforest wilderness in Far North Queensland. The park has the oldest rainforest on the planet and a high concentration of plant and animal species that are not found anywhere else. There are also Eastern Kuku Yalanj, aboriginal people who are the owners of the park and are very welcoming to travelers! They stayed in the Daintree Eco Lodge in the amazing King Rainforest Bayan room. This lodge is an incredible experience located in the national park. They took an incredible full day excursion through the park with one our trusted local tour companies.

This included crossing the Daintree River and entering the CapeTribulation section of the World Heritage areas. They spotted all sorts of wildlife ranging from crocs, snakes, eagles and much more. The tour also included swimming in a secluded waterhole and some beach exploration as well. It’s truly a remarkable tour.

What were 3 highlights from their trip?

Fitzroy Island – We were able to truly disconnect and enjoy hiking and snorkeling with sea turtles.
Ecolodges in Daintree Rainforest – The ecolodges was incredible. The service was outstanding and I enjoyed morning yoga and our 6 course dinner.
Diving – The intro dive was a ton of fun on the tour. Highly recommended

What is a tip that you would give to future travelers?

I wouldn’t do the dinner package every night at Fitzroy island resort. The menu doesn’t really change. Though the food was great, there were usually only 5 or 6 options.
Do the boat excursion and get out on the Barrier Reef. The company was great and enjoyed the tour.
