Here’s what they had to say!
- The trip was awesome. Iceland exceeded our expectations and was so beautiful – we actually got really lucky with 2.5 sunny days in a row! The locals kept explaining how rare that is! The drive up north was a bit crazy after not much sleep the night before and those one way tunnels are no joke! But since we weren’t in any sort of hurry we took our time and stopped and saw the waterfalls you recommended (only got lost once!). Oh for future reference, the Trawire hotspot rental was awesome – easy pick up at the airport and never went out of service even in the really remote areas.
- Hotels were great. Siglo was beautiful and seemed like brand new. Alda also modern, clean and although no parking, there was plenty of street parking in the area. Liked that it was on that busy street, but no issues with noise at night.
- Frost and Fire hotel was so unique – rooms a bit more dated, but can’t beat the geothermal hot tubs right on the river and the restaurant was delicious and super cool they cooked some things on the geothermal stoves outside.
- Enjoyed the Perlan and just walking around Reykjavik seeing the sights. We ended up eating at the Lebowski bar that we came across as roaming around haha.
- Glacier hike was probably our favorite part! Guides were so nice, always felt safe, and met some other nice folks. We stopped on our own at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall which was beautiful. Stopping at the blue lagoon on our way to the airport was the perfect way to relax before leaving.
