Do you have along flight coming up and are dreading it? Or do you just hate flying in general?

Flights can be tricky sometimes, and with airlines making flying more affordable for everyone and putting more people on flights, legroom is shrinking and seats are becoming less comfy. Without upgrading your seat and with a few tips from The Timely Traveler there are ways to make your long flights more enjoyable.

Tips:
  1. Get Up and Moving! – It is VITAL to stand up and stretch when sitting for long flights. Every few hours stand up and walk down the aisle or do some stretches. (We suggest some airplane yoga.) This will get the blood flowing! This is the perfect time to hit the bathroom as well!
  2. Drink Plenty of Water! – Drinking water during your flight is important because the air in airplanes is dry and dehydrating due to the pressurization of the cabin. Stay hydrated by drinking water when you can. Flight attendants should provide water throughout your flight.
  3. Stay Entertained! – Whether it’s a good book or your favorite TV show… stay entertained! This will make the flight FLY by. Netflix offers the options to download movies & shows onto your computer or tablet to be available offline. Do this before you leave!
  4. Need a Charge? – Make sure your electronics are charged, and if not make sure to check ahead of time to see if your flight provides electrical outlets.
  5. Get Comfy! – If the flight is going to be long be sure to pack a travel pillow and blanket. Eye mask & ear plugs are a great idea too. Some international flights include these (Delta, for sure) but just in case bring your own. Total game changer!
  6. Traveling with Young Kids – Well that deserves a separate blog post. Stay tuned for our next travel tip blog that will be dedicated to family travel.
