Days 1 – 3 : Cape Town

  • Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival in Cape Town (flight booked independently), you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.
  • Today, make your way to Cape Town and your hotel, Protea Fire and Ice! Enjoy exploring on your own with your rental car (which will be delivered to your hotel)

Days 3-5 : Paarl

  • Enjoy two nights in this foodie’s paradise. We recommend a full day wine tour – or the hop on/off wine train (extra cost, tickets can be purchased directly or in advance as they may sell out over the holiday period).
  • Your rental car will be brought to you at your hotel at 1000 hours as the next days in the winelands and Cape Town will be on self-drive basis.

Day 6 : Nairobi

  • This morning, drive to Cape Town airport in time to drop off your rental car at the Avis office before catching your flight to Nairobi for a magical Kenyan safari (flight priced separately)! On arrival, you will be met by our Kenyan representative and taken to Karen Gables, a beautiful owner-run property in the Karen suburb of Nairobi. Spend your first night in Kenya at this garden oasis, centrally located to visit a number of local attractions.

Days 7 – 9 : Masai Mara

  • After breakfast, you will be transferred to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for your scheduled charter flight to the Masai Mara (flight included). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the quaint and traditional Speke’s Camp where you will spend the next four nights enjoying excellent game viewing in one of Africa’s finest game reserves.  Located along the Olare Orok River, on private land approximately one kilometer from the reserve, Speke’s Camp is bordered by Mara North Conservancy and Olare Orok Conservancy.
  • The camp has access to some of the best river crossing spots and game viewing areas in all of Kenya, and they include exceptional private guides for all of their guests to ensure an exclusive and tailored safari experience. .

Day 10 : Lewa Conservancy

  • This morning, you will be transferred to the local airstrip for your scheduled flight to Lewa Airstrip via Wilson Airport (flight included). Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the luxurious Sirikoi Lodge, located in the Lewa Conservancy. During your stay, enjoy day and night game drives, guided bush walks, bush meals, and visiting the Lewa HQ, tracker dogs & projects. Other activities at an additional cost include horse back riding ($60 per person), camel back treks ($50 per person), Il Ngwesi Cultural visit ($45 per person), and even a canopy walk in the Ngare Ndare rainforest above the forest elephants ($65 per person).

  • The camp has four luxury tents, each built on a platform with a private veranda overlooking the waterhole, a living area with a fireplace and an elegant bathroom with a Victorian bath and a shower.
  • Sirikoi Cottage is a secluded two-bedroom cottage, made from wood, thatch and stone and with a large deck area is situated in a private corner of the camp, near the wetlands where elephant and buffalo are regular visitors.
  • Sirikoi House is an entirely private three-bedroom house that can sleep up to six people in stunning style and comfort. It has its own kitchen, dining room and living spaces, and comes with its own guides and vehicles. Sirikoi House has an enormous shared living space looking out over the waterhole beyond, as well as a deck where private meals and sundowners can be enjoyed.

Day 13 : End Of Itinerary

  • Today you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (flight included). Upon arrival, you will be met by your driver who will remain at your disposal for the afternoon and evening.  We recommend a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum and to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage for the 5pm foster parents-only feeding session (foster fee of $50 must be paid in advance and visit pre-arranged: https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/asp/fostering.asp).
  • There is also a handful of wonderful shopping from high end brozes at MatBronze to small carvings and beaded wares at Utamuduni.
  • Later you will be taken to a restaurant for dinner (on own account) en route to the international airport for your flight back home (international flights booked separately).
