12 Day Japan and South Korea Trip

  • We were fortunate to help some of our recent travelers plan an excellent trip to Japan and South Korea.  The purpose of the trip was to visit some family over there and also do quite a bit of exploring on their own. We were able to assist them with their flights, accommodations, excursions and other recommendations.  The trip was an amazing experience for them as they were able to explore both countries over the two weeks!

  • Days 4-7 – Kyoto

    • Our travelers next stop was Kyoto, which is on the Island of Honshu.  It’s famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses. It’s also known for formal traditions such as kaiseki dining, consisting of multiple courses of precise dishes, and geisha, female entertainers often found in the Gion district.
    • They took a full day trip with a local guide to explore the best of Kyoto.  The tour includeda visit to Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), which was originally built as a retirement villa for the Shogun. After his death, it became a Buddhist Temple at his request and is now one of Kyoto`s most famous temples.

This is located on Kyushu Island and our clients enjoyed a special dinner there at a local Yakitori restaurant (which is a must while visiting).  This was a quick stop on their journey, as the next destination was Seoul!
